Membership

General Rules

PNCL has a commitment to provide environment conducive to reading and research work for our worthy members. Following rules are required to be observed by members:

  • Do not bring any valuable item in the Library. Bags, extra books, boxes etc should be left outside the Library. PNCL shall not be responsible for any loss of item left unattended by a member.
  • Use of mobile Camera, Food and Drinks, Smoking, Eating, sleeping, group discussions, unnecessary movements, swinging on chair, stretching legs on the tables/ chairs, sitting on stairs etc are not allowed in library
  • Books drawn from the shelves for study are left on reading table after use for proper shelving by the staff.
  • Use Library material or its facilities with at most care. Any damage to PNCL property due to misuse will be recovered from the members as per actual
  • Non members are not allowed inside the Library unless prior permission is obtained.
  • Members are requested to cooperate in maintaining discipline in the library premises.
  • Membership can be suspended/ cancelled in case of any serious violation of PNCL rules.

DRESS CODE

Following dress code is required to be followed by all members:

Male Members

  • Pant shirt, shalwar qameez with shoes or sandals but no chappal, or sleepers or joggers are allowed

Female Members

  • Shalwar qameez with duppatta or shawl. Kurta and full sleeve T shirt with trouser with stoller or duppatta or shawl with shoes or sandals but no chappal / joggers or slippers

SECURITY

Security At Car Parking. Members are to ensure:-

  • Secured parking of their vehicles at own risk in Parking Area.
  • Parking of vehicles in orderly manners allowing smooth ‘IN / OUT ‘of vehicles from Entry and Exit points.
  • No vehicle is allowed to be parked in parking area. after off timing or during off days

Building Security

Members are requested to report if observe fire / short circuiting or loose electric sockets / joints inside Library to Library Receptionist or any staff nearby.

Ethical Security. Members to ensure:-

  • Mutual respect of each other by Male and Female members.
  • No disturbance in any manner to other members.

EATABLES

Do not bring and eat your food inside library. You can eat in cafe or designated places outside library building.

BOOK BORROWING

  • Submit any book or object for inspection, when requested by the library staff.
  • Do not write, underline or mark on any library book or any reading table. The books are carefully examined on return and the borrower will be held responsible for any damage or writing in the book.
  • Members are expected to return books on time and in good condition. Books returned after due date will be charged with fine.
  • Lost material / book will be charged with replacement or cost of book.

DONATED BOOKS

PN Central Library has a vast collection of books donated by library members. These books are very valuable to library. If you want to donate books, you can contact us through our email address or given phone number.

Criteria for Donation of Books

Books should be in good condition / quality reading and acceptable. We do not accept bad quality books or controversial books
what we Accept:-

  • Books must be in good condition.
  • Books must be of public interest.
  • Text books, magazines, newspapers and journals are not accepted

 Other services, government employees, Students (under 18) and students of PN Institutions have 50% discount on membership fees. Membership is free for senior citizen.
